  1. There are so many improvements needed that I need to talk to someone in engineering or decision making. This new version is a step backward

    Please call. THere are so many problems that I can't describe them all. Should have been worked out in engineering. Jim Kimsey would roll over in his grave if this product had been produced when he founded AOL. This is NOT easy to use for email and reading things. If you're trying to make this into a substitute for an I phone, it has lost its utility and you'll be driving people to Apple. AOL was for MAIL primarily, NOT TV, and so on.   2. Need AOL V9.8.2 for dial-up.

    I have an old functioning desktop computer with dial-up capability. I would like AOL to send me CD with the AOL V9.8.2 to install on this old computer. I also need CDs to install the AOL component software for AOL Dialer and AOL Shield as I am unable to download anything from the Internet because current browsers are not supported with this old computer. What is the AOL phone number to call to obtain these CDs? Thank you.

  3. Error:Sender address rejected: not owned by user. I get this error when trying to set up our billing program to send automatic e-mail.

    Trying to set up our billing program (CUSI) to send automatic e-mail responses. We've had CUSI installed on our computer for 3+ years and now are trying to set up the e-mail function.

    We provided CUSI with our AOL account credentials to allow AOL to send the automatic e-mail's. The billing program can log into AOL, we don't have an issue until the e-mail is trying to send. We get an error message as follows:

    Sender address rejected: not owned by user
    Failed when sending MAIL

  4. Amateur Software

    I'm trying to get to "Manage My Account" and your crumby software is running me around in circles. I can only get to a blank "Username Services" page.

    Forget about the fact that I've had to enter all of my e-mail signatures twice now ... and that all of the other complaints about the software posted here seem accurate.

    I can access my saved emails on my phone app and on my ipad app. but on my computer with AOL desktop gold the folders have disappeared with no dropdown or other way to find them.

  6. Background vs Stationery

    You obviously misunderstood, we didn't want your stationery, we want to be able to OUR OWN backgrounds like before. How difficult is that? You don't even understand what your customers want or need, yet you increase the rates? That's almost laughable. You're stealing from us. Why didn't you take notes of AOL 9.8.2 before you cut it off? You don't have a clue as to what we want or need. You're not even trying to satisfy us. Why not?

  7. I see I have most AOL customers in the same boat I am in with AOL Gold. I have been with AOL since 1998 & gone through all the changes & up

    To try again...I see I have the majority of AOL members thinking the same thing I do about AOL Gold...it is the worse program change I have used since my joining in1998. We don't need an inbox...it is useless & confusing. I maintain data bases of over 500+ names each. I had them all organized in my address book in groups that related to the subject matter. You destroyed my work by listing everything together in an A to Z listing. It has taken me days to reorganize them & you refreshed my book today & found invalid emails that…

  9. What do I have to pay in fee to get 36,678 incoming mails out of my computer

    My idea is to return to your old AOL mode hat keeps customer on your site. At the rate you are going - and I have been with you 1993 (count the years!!) there will be one more leaving, if not many more. Wake up your customer service has gone down the drain.

    The Corporate Officers of Oath, LLC who bought AOL are obviously a bunch of twit-brained Baboons. They are living proof that having money and power has nothing to do with intellect and good management.

    And the programming staff are consummately STUPID. You took a good featured program and ******* it up. You removed many great features from GOLD, which is a real piece of ****, by the way.   11. I am having trouble reading the printed lines on Huffington/AOL News as the AVANTIS VIDEO is horrible and covers about 1/2 the screen.

    As repeated the AVANTIS VIDEO should be removed permanently as it blocks about 1/2 the screen of what I am trying to read with annoying videos and no X to remove it. I am constantly removing other ads in order to read and see photos from articles I may like. Frankly it is getting a bit much and free AOL was much better than paying for it and getting poor service. I have had this email address since 1988 so not happy when it creates problems, blocks email I wish to receive, etc.

    Hello, I have the most difficult time cleaning out my mail box. PLEASE YOU COULD HELP IN THIS WAY:
    Quick Find:
    Then IF you would ADD these options:
    SELECT ALL:
    DELETE:

    I have to scroll to delete one email at a time..that takes hours that is why I don't do it. I have so many emails that I try to get people to send me messages in other ways. However I could quickly get ahold and manage my mail so much easier if for example:
    QUICK FIND: gnc
    then all my emails that say GNC would come up

    AOL Gold needs a SHARE button so I can share information like pet food recalls with friends and family like I used to be able to do until AOL completely fcked up being able to share vital information by eradicating that option with its new unfriendly version. Why are we via my husband Paul Adler's bank account even bothering to remain paying AOL customers with a half ** constructed software service that is too paranoid and selfish to even provide a way to share information with others via our computer?

    If I'm finally able to open Old Mail and try to open one all I get is a blank gray box, the same thing I get when my bank sends me the weekly update. Norton has scanned my hard drive and nothing.

  17. AOL Gold freezes up, won't load pages. Here I am with 2 tabs open both of which I can open articles, read content, and go back and forth be

    Here I am with 2 tabs open, I can go back and forth opening articles, but when I try to access Equibase.com which is only on horses, it freezes up and refuses to load. "Timed out", "Oops...something went wrong" or the page goes white and I sit here watching a little blue circle go around. Gold has an anniversary coming up, which is THREE HUNDRED revisions since I signed up in January. What's up with a browser that still crashes??? Did everybody but me already move on to a better browser???

    Please send us a crash report in order for our engineers to look into the issue you are experiencing with the software closing unexpectedly. To do that, please follow these steps:

    1. Open AOL Desktop Gold.
    2. Click on Help on the top right, and select Report a Bug from the drop-down menu.
    3. Type a short description of the problem, and click Send.

  18. FIX THE EMAIL SYSTEM

    after reading a new email and marking it unread the email will sometimes go in the old email folder. I mark it unread to go back to new it goes into new then I check old folder and it's back in the old folder. I can go back and forth with this all day trying to keep an email new. Very frustrating. I have had tech support at least 3 times now with no fix. Hate the GOLD/CAN'T TRUST IT
