Dangerous problem that continues to happen!
I am advising you of a SERIOUS problem that continues to happen. When I'm scrolling through the daily news articles, an article comes up that I'm interested in. I click to open it, and a message appears that "Your computer is infected with a virus and is locked! You must call Microsoft Support to resolve it!" And it gives an 800 number to call. Restoring Favorites
I saved my Favorites to my computer in case something happened I could restore them, well I deleted a folder by accident and when I went to the saved ones to restore the folder it won't open up, it keeps wanting me to save it again and again and it wont open the favorites I saved. How do I get the saved one to open up??
Please follow these steps:
1. Open the Favorite Places window.
2. Click Manage.
3. Select one of the following:
-Replace: Use this to replace your current Favorites with your backup copy or Favorites from your other Username.
-Append: Use this option to add to your existing list with your backup copy or Favorites from your other Username.
4. Navigate to the Favorites file that you saved, click the file to highlight it, and then click Open.
5. Close the Favorite Places window. -
rebooted twice within a week and not good for aol to not work
yeah i had to reboot twice within less than a week my computer because aol was not working correctly press continue, would not open up till i rebooted the computer i get aol thru my A T & T bill, get it thru them...when the aol is not working my phone does not either and when you are unhealthy like me and your husband is out of town and your phone is not working....NOT GOOD.....it worked after i rebooted the computer...should not be happening and also sluggish when coming on....not good when you pay alot more for aol because…

Database cleaning?
why am I getting this garbage of "database is cleaning up files..." and after this runs, clickable links don't work in emails, my computer is so **** slow its unreal. It was bad before you started once again reinventing the wheel and screwing things up. Stop with this ******** already. We pay for your services and you do nothing but jack things up. Stop with the database ****.

AOL desktop gold software on AMD cpu
I have noticed that for some strange reason, the aol desktop gold software runs poorly on my desktop computer that has an AMD cpu.
Upon starting the software for the first time in the day, if any link is clinked, the software appears to freeze for a good 5 minutes before unfreezing itself.
Since this issue is only present on a computer running on an AMD cpu, a hotfix should be applied. My laptop has an intel cpu and the issue isn't present with intel.

Suddenly every time I try to refresh the welcome screen it signs me off of AOL.

AOL Gold has obviously been optimized for use on a phone, because on a PC, it doesn't work WORTH A ****. So, feedback: Actually create a version of AOL that is optimized for people who use keyboards on desktop computers, or allow us to go back to version 9.8.1

Using AOL Gold I normally get a message that I have a file open when trying to send it as an attachment. Today I kept getting an EC 4001 and a message that needed an address to send the email. Looks like there is a bug in the system that did not give me the correct error message.

Subscription
I subscribe to AOL Gold and receive email on my Ipad and my Blackberry (thank God). When I try to sign on on my desktop or laptop, it says I dont have a subscription. Had AOL for free since 1996, now I pay and have issues.

Help
I haven’t been able to use aol since aol gold started. I’ve gone through turning the computer over to aol (bomgar) several times, being on phone for hours. Nothing works. Get mail through other means and on iPad. They said they’d would deduct —at least a year—of the amount I’ve been paying for years, but haven’t done that either. Just hate to go through telephone call again.

I have been trying to get into my AOL account to update my account information but keep getting a message to try again later. Gold sucks!
Get rid of Gold and go back to the original AOL. Have a number where one can call AOL to change/or update account information. I need some help here and can't seem to get it from AOL. My credit card that AOL bills to was compromised with fraud and I was issued a new one and need to update my account. How can I do this?

Thank you for yet ANOTHER unwanted shortcut on my desktop
Every few days, your stinky program puts a shortcut to AOL on my desktop, DESPITE the facts that THERE IS ONE THERE ALREADY. Nor did I WANT or even try to get a second shortcut. You are making changes to my computer WITHOUT AUTHORIZATION which I wouldn't give you because you people can't do anything correctly, other than **** off your long standing customers with your absolute garbage changes to what was once a **** good program.

IMPROVEMENTS
The technician was very helpful ... however, the AOL GOLD system tends to freeze ... prevents you from doing work on many occasions and you must re-start your computer ... also, it ERRORS when you are sending BCC (bulk) e-mails to organizations and groups that before was much easier ... Spam is now controlled - if needed - from everyones computer, no need to have such restrictions! Thank You!P.S. Loyal customer since 2004!!N.B. Also, your images are not holding like they did previously?PPS Please Change Policy on BCC/Bulk so we can stay customer friendly!!

Saving an Email - not working.
I wish to save the contents of an email, (older AOL desktop had capability)
What I've tried - but doesn't work..
On an email, I right click & "SELECT ALL"
Then Click (bottom left of email border" SAVE & on my PC, Select
the folder I want .. & NOTHING is saved..Try again with "Create a folder" .. enter name and again
NOTHING is saved and the folder was NOT created.What I NEEED is save the entired email as a PDF or as an HTML file with any images.. OR whatever!!
You can now save a copy of your emails as a PDF or Text file on your computer, which can be accessed outside of the AOL Desktop Gold.
To do this, open an email from your mailbox, then click on File on the top left and select Save from the drop-down menu. You can type a name for the file in the “File Name” box, select the location where you want to save it, and finally click on Save in the bottom right.
Please note that you can save one email at a time.

Reuse of passwords
It really is a pain and a problem that you do not permit use of old passwords. It makes virtually impossible to remember one, and prevents me from getting into my account at a new computer.

Bring back old AOL
Error messages a lot of the times I try to log-in.... sites that once opened, don't always... no choices in stationery (paper)... AOL *****! I'm paying all this money for the "new" Gold and getting less now than with the old version. Come on guys... listen to your members.
