  2. To truly improve my AOL Deaktop Gold experience, return to any previous version, This one stinks! Error messages are compounding.

    Its bad enough to get an error 355 message repeatedly, but now I'm getting 'mail not sent because of an error'. No explanation how to fix it, what the error is, just an error. I'm waiting 3 to 5 minutes for that error to pop up, then I try again, wait again and there is the message again. The mail has not been sent. This version is getting worse instead of better. We have other things to do online than to wait 10 minutes to send one email. This is horrible. And you have the nerve to charge us for…

  4. AOL Gold......I mean "OOPS"

    After more than 600 revisions to this defective browser (since I got duped into signing up) it still crashes all of the time and won't open websites, even after I just had them open moments ago. They finally got the browser to open up and start without crashing, but almost daily I have to completely reboot my computer in an attempt to get this horrible thing to even attempt at working properly. I see they are now offering a "Pro" version of AOL Shield....hmmm. I wonder if that one will operate without crashing all of the time.....

    Please get rid of AOL Desktop Gold. It is horrible for Email. I have nothing but daily problems now with my email. I have been a paying customer of AOL for 25 years now. I have never had email problems until you started AOL GOLD. Now, its almost a daily issue. Today, all of my unread emails and emails that I have saved as unread are GONE....can't get to them no what how hard I try. The most current emails that show up in my inbox are from July.   7. When trying to access my spam control Im taken to a sign on screen

    Obviously I'm already signed in otherwise I couldn't see any of my mail, spam included. Yet when I try to access the spam control via the link given I'm taken to a sign on screen. WTF? I'm already signed in, why am I being asked to sign in again? I don't think aol knows its elbow from its butt. So what's the excuse this time?

    After uninstalling and reinstalling Data Mask correctly the datamask box is showing the garbled letter but when we restart the computer, its not gonna show the garbled letters anymore.

    Our engineers are aware of an issue preventing the anti-keylogging window from appearing when using both Data Mask and AOL Desktop Gold, and are currently working on a fix. Although the window does not appear, the anti-keylogging feature is still functioning in the background, so your keystrokes cannot be recorded by malware software.

  9. Dangerous problem that continues to happen!

    I am advising you of a SERIOUS problem that continues to happen. When I'm scrolling through the daily news articles, an article comes up that I'm interested in. I click to open it, and a message appears that "Your computer is infected with a virus and is locked! You must call Microsoft Support to resolve it!" And it gives an 800 number to call. If you call the number, a nefarious agent will start a remote session to take over your computer. However, it is not Microsoft! I've found that this only happens when the lower text of the…

    Restarting your computer, modem and any home networking equipment, will help your computer get a better connection. Follow the steps below: 1. Shut down your computer. 2. Unplug the power cord from your cable, DSL, or dial-up modem, and router (if you have one). 3. Wait 30 seconds. 4. If you use an external modem, plug the power cord into your cable, DSL, or dial-up modem. 5. If you have a router, plug the power cord into your router. 6. Turn on your computer.

  11. BCC RECIPIENTS NO LONGER SHOWING UP + GETTING ERROR MESSAGE WHEN TRYING TO SEND

    As of today, the BCC recipient address no longer show; I have to click on the Details link for a window to pop up which is a bothersome extra step. What happened??? Also, when I try to send the same list of recipients, an error message no pops us, "Mail failed to send due to error", but it doesn't say WHAT IT'S DUE TO OR HOW TO FIX IT. ASAP PLEASE ADVISE!!!!!

    AOL Browser problems are enough to make a preacher's wife cuss, and I should know because I was one for 25 years! Talk about testing my patience!!! Here goes: 1) Once I click on the aol icon, it takes far too long to get even the first signin screen. 2)Once I enter my password, God only knows what response I'm going to get. So far - today alone - I have signed on, only to have a '118 error - timed out' screen pop up repeatedly. The only way I could close aol was by using the task manager. 3)…

    why am I getting this garbage of "database is cleaning up files..." and after this runs, clickable links don't work in emails, my computer is so **** slow its unreal. It was bad before you started once again reinventing the wheel and screwing things up. Stop with this ******** already. We pay for your services and you do nothing but jack things up.   14. Give me an option to receive my AOL News in English while I am in Germany !

    Make a Place and Language Option available for when some one is visiting another country instead of automatically switching to the news and Language of the current location of the computer !

  17. Restoring Favorites

    I saved my Favorites to my computer in case something happened I could restore them, well I deleted a folder by accident and when I went to the saved ones to restore the folder it won't open up, it keeps wanting me to save it again and again and it wont open the favorites I saved. How do I get the saved one to open up??

    Please follow these steps:

    1. Open the Favorite Places window.
    2. Click Manage.
    3. Select one of the following:
    -Replace: Use this to replace your current Favorites with your backup copy or Favorites from your other Username.
    -Append: Use this option to add to your existing list with your backup copy or Favorites from your other Username.
    4. Navigate to the Favorites file that you saved, click the file to highlight it, and then click Open.
    5. Close the Favorite Places window.

    With the last 4 or 5 beta fixes, nothing of importance was fixed here. I can't account for anything prior to that as I have only started following this forum in the last 4 or 5 weeks. So the question is, what are these unimportant fixes?? I'm still waiting for, among other things:

    Being able to sign in without trying many times.
    Being able to use shortcut keys.
    New carousel items & smilies.
    Not freezing constantly.
    Making the news drop the horrendous animal abuse stories.
    Making visited links change color in AOL searches.
    Making AOL Gold do everything faster.…

  19. AOL desktop gold software on AMD cpu

    I have noticed that for some strange reason, the aol desktop gold software runs poorly on my desktop computer that has an AMD cpu.

    Upon starting the software for the first time in the day, if any link is clinked, the software appears to freeze for a good 5 minutes before unfreezing itself.

    Since this issue is only present on a computer running on an AMD cpu, a hotfix should be applied. My laptop has an intel cpu and the issue isn't present with intel.
