When will things work as they used to
I just wasted over an hour trying to sign into Gold. After the little white box appeared two blue circles would freeze and got message "not responding", yet every other website I tried was no issue.
I finally wasted more time calling Tech Support and reporting the issue. Other than trying to sell me some check up program I do not need, wanting to reinstall which I had done a short time ago making no difference in all the problems and filing a case number, that was it.
I again reported my seven carousel icons which are moved…Please send us a crash report in order for our engineers to look into the issue you are experiencing with the software closing unexpectedly. To do that, please follow these steps:
1. Open AOL Desktop Gold.
2. Click on Help on the top right, and select Report a Bug from the drop-down menu.

Suppose you had one or more window tabs open on the aol desktop. It used to be that when you would click the "welcome" tab, the space in which to type a new URL was blank. This is no longer the case. The AOL software would only try to "guess" previously used URLs when I started typing in the URL space. First of all, let me start by saying that I have been an AOL customer for more than 20 years and I am really mad. Bring back 9.8.2. This version stinks. When I try to print my emails, it leaves out half of the previous emails/responses. The old version told you whether or not you had any emails and how many when changing screen names, this one does not. You have to switch and sign on to find out if you have any emails. This new [Unsubscribe] next to the From line of the email - why is it there?
It isn't on every email I receive. Some members of many groups I belong to have it in their emails to me and others don't. Why would I unsubscribe from a private person's email? If this is AOL's way of trying to do the "Do Not Call" list for spammers, isn't it just telling them our email addresses really exist. I learned years ago to NEVER reply to a spam message - isn't that what the unsubscribe would do if a spam message was in with our regular messages?

Terms Of Service seems to be selective in AOL Chatrooms
AOL reestablished the use of REPORT in their chatrooms...and this sometimes results in a chatroom member losing their screen name for repeated violations...HOWEVER, not all TOS violators wind up losing their screen names and are bullying and harrassing other chatroom members in this one particular chatroom -- ROMANCE 60s PLUS LOVE -- several of the regular members brag that they are "protected" and will nevah lose their screen names while some trying to be honest and forthright lose screen names right and left....ARE THERE PROTECTED MEMBERS IN THE CHATROOMS AND IF SO WHY IS THAT SO? Somthing is wrong with a lot of your setups that you have on gold aol and it is terrible.
if I have a letter I am writing and I have another page up I am trying to send out it will place this into the letter I am writing, you can't have multiple pages on your screen, it messes up all the time. On Desktop Gold, when trying to write an email, there are no longer manageable margins. in other words, when typing a line in an email, it keeps going beyond the margins of the email, and when one hits "enter" to go to the next line, one loses sight of the cursor completely, with no means of scrolling to the left. Make it Faster
I have mentioned this before in a post. This Gold version stinks. It cannot even keep up with my slow typing here on your comment block. I try to delete messages, and it takes way, way, too long to respond. You can improve it by clearing up the slowness, and if you cannot do that, then go back to the most previous version. Your algorithm for screening comments still needs work and could benefit from AI!
I've gone through several screenings for words I've used in comments! The word or words that caused rejection or challenging were in no way used offensively nor were the word or words in question made known to me. I'm keenly aware and support efforts to try and keep comments constructive. But your words have no value to me when I see others verbally attacking others (this time me) without the sensitivity you seek. I see lots of hateful language but not necessarily an offensive word. In settings, you can click on Mail and then select General. There is a checkbox that controls the delete confirmation. Uncheck that box if you don't want to see that message again.

user not maintaining a good connection between the aol software and server
It seems that the aol desktop gold software is not coded right to allow a smooth experience for the user. There is constant freezing for a second or two anytime I try to do anything on the software, from reading email to reading an article to typing feedback.
