  1. Email is not updating

    For the past few days my email is not current. I know there are new mails because they come through on my phone. But Desktop Gold on my computer is not updating. I tried the "refresh mail" but this does nothing. It only updates if I completely shut it down and resign in. HELP!

    Please send us a crash report in order for our engineers to look into the issue you are experiencing. To do that, please follow these steps:

    1. Open AOL Desktop Gold.
    2. Click on Help on the top right, and select Report a Bug from the drop-down menu.
    3. Type a short description of the problem, and click Send.

  4. I'm a USA Citizen and Don't Speak German. Why Does AOL Think I Do?

    Every time I try to submit feedback on one of your many inane ads (which I should never receive because I'm a paying member), the responses appear in German. Why?

  5. Stop the webpage from freezing up -- it wont move after enlarging the page

    This had just started in the last 10 days. If you try to enlarge the screen page --IT FREEZES UP==LOCKS UP and you can't get out to the page

  6. AOL Gold Desktop doesn't recognize my Adobe Flash and PDF programs

    Ever since I downloaded and have used the new AOL Gold Desktop, the program does not recognize that I already have Adobe Flash on my computer, no need to download it again for AOL's use. I keep it updated but not through AOL Gold Desktop. It works fine except for the constant "Download Adobe Flash" message. Same is true for PDF files, When I download a PDF file, I cannot read it from AOL Gold Desktop. I have to sign off, go searching for the PDF file, then read it separately.   7. Why did AOL Gold change my settings on my laptop?

    When I download AOL Gold it changed my file type associations for .htm and .html to AOL Gold. I never authorized this. What other covert changes did you also do to my computer? I absolutely do not trust AOL at all. If AOL was trustworthy, they would have a delivered a quality product first time.

  8. I am paying for your services and have to read and send mail on IE most of the time because GOLD is currently not able to send mail.

    fix AOL Gold.It ruined my computer and nothing works properly.Not to mention that I lost over 100 pieces of important info that did not get transferred. And your search engine does not work most of the time either.Mail can't be read or sent constantly This version of AOL is the worst I have seen in 20 years

  9. It seems that forever now, the "email-us" link STILL never is operating

    It seems that STILL, forever, the "email-us" link NEVER works, is operational... ALSO, on the software drop-down, "check for updates" still never works...ALSO, the " computer protection plan, which is supposed to have a $750 per year free maintenance, repair, replace benefit(s), is NO longer free...They nowadays CHARGE a $75 fee to replace, repair computers, monitors and such... Just another rip off, and unfair greedy deal... Doctor Dave Bengard.

  10. Just recently

    Recently when I delete the messages in my SPAM Folder, they reappear in my RECENTLY DELETED MAIL Folder, so I have to delete them a second time. Please figure out why this is happening because it is annoying. I explained this to AOL Tech Support who took control of my computer but it continues to happen. Thank you. .

  11. I have been on hold for 4 hours over a two day period, I can't open my mail and in the process it locks up my computer. WTF

    Get rid of desk top Gold, we pay for a system that doesn't work and there is no one in tech support that has a clue how to fix anything. I have to go on Goggle to get to AOL Mail. Can someone PLEASE get to me. If this continues I going to cancel.

  12. Adg security feature is annoying

    I am unable to open different links from some emails because those are recognized to be fishy by Aol Dektop Gold, if I try to go on the web mail and open those links, even thought they a recognized by Malware bytes as being suspicious I can at least open them. since I use adg mostly, it is a very annoying feature, so please allow me to choose if I want to go to a website or not

    We should not have to pay for this until you get it working right. We all deserve refunds. Every time I go into my email there are email's I already deleted. I try and send an email, especially when there is an attachment and it doesn't send or it takes a very long time. I went in today and there was nothing showing in my in box, when I know for a fact there was. I have to re-start several times. It is so slow to start up.   14. News content is no longer news

    I'm a 20 year aol customer. I use to get the majority of my news from the aol home page. No longer though. The first 2 or 3 items are as far as I go, because the remaining 75 or so items are a waste of my time, and I would think many others as well. Filled with topics generally found in People magazine. Not news. Maybe separate hard news into a dedicated category. I'd be glad to try again.

  15. Bug in New Spam Settings

    I mistakenly added a word to the list of specific words and phrases (then realized it was a bad idea, as now hundreds of emails are being sent to the Spam Folder). When I try to remove it, I get an error: "We seem to have trouble sending this request. Please try again in 5 minutes. Code: Forbidden." No matter how many times I've tried, the "spam" word I want to delete won't go away! Please fix this!! I can provide a screenshot if you need it.

  16. If a person can't sign-on because he forgot his password, how can you expect him to log-on to let you know there's a problem?

    Why not try being user friendly? Phoning a landline would work in my case. But sending am e-mail to an account that you can't log-on to seems like a waste of everyone's time.

    When an email won't open for 2 or 3 minutes its a problem for me. When it won't open because the ******* ads aren't loaded first on the margin of the email thats really a problem for me. Its happening more and more. My computer freezes up because the ads aren't loaded, I can't do anything but hard crash my computer or use control alt delete and restart the whole **** machine.     To resolve the slowness and performance issues, please try the troubleshooting solutions below:

    1. Clear the Footprints in the new AOL Desktop. Here’s how you clear the Footprints: a. In the top left corner of the AOL Desktop window, click “Edit” then choose “Select Footprints to Clear” from the drop-down menu. b. Select “Clear Footprints” from the Browser Settings. No need to wait for a confirmation message, the Footprints will be cleared immediately.

    2. Restart the computer. This helps clear the internal memory (RAM), which often resolves many issues.

    3. Enable only the essential startup programs. Multiple programs may have been set to start automatically when a computer is turned on. These programs may cause the computer to slow down, and affect other running applications.

  18. I cannot download an email attachment or print an email to a PDF printer. I have reported this bug 3 times and no response.

  19. Why can't we delete Apps that we don't want? Ex. Tech Fortress blocks anything I try to do. Tried uninstall appeared to work still pops up.

    If you'll are so helpful up front downloading these you should be the same if I decide I don't want it any longer, but Help desk has refused.

    Sorry to hear Tech Fortress did not meet your needs. If you still have the subscription active you can cancel it by following these steps:
    1. Visit MyAccount.aol.com.
    2. Click My Services.
    3. Click Subscriptions.
    4. Click Manage next to the plan you’d like to cancel.
    5. Click Cancel.
    6. Click Cancel My Billing.
    7. Select a reason for canceling from the drop-down menu.
    8. Click Cancel My Billing.

    I find that the new AOL Desktop Gold version is absolutely terrible. There are so many bugs – that I’m not sure if AOL did any kind of beta testing before releasing this garbage.
