Rapid flashing AOL ads and law suits
I've got three emails open and my desktop email window. There are four, rapidly flashing ads driving me nuts and making me sick to my stomach, so that I can't work. Maybe you, AOL, don't care about that, but are you aware that, for someone with epilepsy, that type of rapid, flashing movement can cause a seizure? And perhaps a law suit? AOL GOLD IS AWFUL!!!
We should not have to pay for this until you get it working right. We all deserve refunds. Every time I go into my email there are email's I already deleted. I try and send an email, especially when there is an attachment and it doesn't send or it takes a very long time. I went in today and there was nothing showing in my in box, when I know for a fact there was. I have to re-start several times. It is so slow to start up. Uninstall older versions ?
Since I have AOL Desktop Gold I want to uninstall my older versions of AOL. I had to call support for problems downloading AOL Desktop Gold and after it was done, they said we aren't suppossed to remove the older versions. Is this true? I don't want excess versions on my computer. Is it OK then to remove them ?
In case you have finished running the import wizard to transfer any emails and other data from the old AOL Desktop to the new one, you can uninstall the AOL Desktop 9.8.2. News content is no longer news
I'm a 20 year aol customer. I use to get the majority of my news from the aol home page. No longer though. The first 2 or 3 items are as far as I go, because the remaining 75 or so items are a waste of my time, and I would think many others as well. Filled with topics generally found in People magazine. Not news. Maybe separate hard news into a dedicated category. I'd be glad to try again.

It seems that forever now, the "email-us" link STILL never is operating
It seems that STILL, forever, the "email-us" link NEVER works, is operational... ALSO, on the software drop-down, "check for updates" still never works...ALSO, the " computer protection plan, which is supposed to have a $750 per year free maintenance, repair, replace benefit(s), is NO longer free...They nowadays CHARGE a $75 fee to replace, repair computers, monitors and such... Just another rip off, and unfair greedy deal... Doctor Dave Bengard.

Since comments are closed on my issue...
I had reported the following: "Report a Bug" has no confirmation/follow-up, so here is the issue:
I reported this issue in the "Report a Bug" area. Every attachment I attempt to download is corrupted. For example, a 65.7 KB Excel file saves as 2 KB, and no information is present in the file upon opening. This has happened in the last 6 files I downloaded, the most current being today. This is TOTALLY unacceptable! Luckily, I can forward to my work email address...what about the people who have no other email address? This needs fixed immediately! I was asked to… -
When I pullup my gmcard, capital one account I can sign on and it opens up but after that I cannot get into the detail of my account.
I get a notice saying sorry. looks like we ran into a snag. We will fix it and try back in the future. It's been like that now for several weeks and can AOL GOLD fix it?

Why can't we delete Apps that we don't want? Ex. Tech Fortress blocks anything I try to do. Tried uninstall appeared to work still pops up.
If you'll are so helpful up front downloading these you should be the same if I decide I don't want it any longer, but Help desk has refused.

1. Visit MyAccount.aol.com.
2. Click My Services.
3. Click Subscriptions.
4. Click Manage next to the plan you’d like to cancel.
5. Click Cancel.
6. Click Cancel My Billing.
7. Select a reason for canceling from the drop-down menu.

Boredom Therapy
clean up that site. Too many ads, too many 'jumps' when trying to get to the "next" short part of the story - gets to where one needs a therapist to try to read some of the things you present. They COULD be enjoyable, I consider them mind warping.

Every time I try to sign on I get the message that the software needed to sign on must be reloaded. Why was it erased at all?
When working off line w/Microsoft Word I keep getting a reminder that the software needed to sign-on to AOL needs to be added. Your pop-up message contaminated my Word data file and now I can't erase, close or access the file. Thanks a lot. I lost 1/2 hours work and now the file is inaccessible! It seems your software is erased every time I log off. Why? Why? I've been a loyal customer for over 25 years and you are on the verge of losing me.

Have AOL Desktop Gold be able to open multiple sites as do other email carriers.
Fix AOL Desktop Gold so that users are able to open it in multiple address sites at the same time on the computer they're using so that information and files can be transferred immediately. This would be a BIG improvement for users, ESPECIALLY paid users, to have access to their various sites at the same time not unlike other carriers.

Please go back to making an article easy to read without having to hit "next" a billion times...Its so **** annoying. I usually just say f it and x out of the story. I mean its not like we are 5 years old and playing a game on the computer. I am thinking of switching to another server cuz this is some ********!!

More issues with ads
When an email won't open for 2 or 3 minutes its a problem for me. When it won't open because the ******* ads aren't loaded first on the margin of the email thats really a problem for me. Its happening more and more. My computer freezes up because the ads aren't loaded, I can't do anything but hard crash my computer or use control alt delete and restart the whole **** machine. To resolve the slowness and performance issues, please try the troubleshooting solutions below:
1. Clear the Footprints in the new AOL Desktop. Here’s how you clear the Footprints: a. In the top left corner of the AOL Desktop window, click “Edit” then choose “Select Footprints to Clear” from the drop-down menu. b. Select “Clear Footprints” from the Browser Settings. No need to wait for a confirmation message, the Footprints will be cleared immediately.
2. Restart the computer. This helps clear the internal memory (RAM), which often resolves many issues.
3. Enable only the essential startup programs. Multiple programs may have been set to start automatically when a computer is turned on. These programs may cause the computer to slow down, and affect other running applications.

I see that AOL Desktop Gold has still not fixed the problem of reported SPAM addresses added to the "Blocked" list that keep getting deleted so entire process must be repeated. from 190+ last night to 17 this evening, and the computer was not shut down during this period, just was "logged" out. 1st few times I reported this, someone in "Tech" wrote back that they were trying to figure out what was going on. Now, no replies even tho problem is ongoing. Does "Desktop" even care???

This is a complaint -- I have installed and re-installed AOL Gold several times -- after a short time it disappears from my computer -- I go to the install AOL Gold and click but nothing happens -- I generally have to call and have a tech re-install -- what is going on with this now I have it now I don't situation?

AOL Gold email needs to be remedied
When sending email and especially with attachments, frequently error messages appear and instruct to try again later. This rarely happened with previous versions of AOL. The new "Gold" should not have been rolled out until it was better prepared
