2 step verification for log in security
I set up the 2 step verification for log in security. The first time I logged in after setup desktop gold browser ask me for a 4 digit code sent by email before i could log in which was great. The first log in procedure never ask me if i wanted my computers i use or the wifi ip address i use (not sure which) to be remembered so the next time i log in i wouldnt have to enter 4 digit code. The second time i logged into my account after the 2 step verification was set up…

I had several of your remote techs trying to correct may problems for me( they worked 2 hrs) they told me it would be worked out as they worked out kinks... It hasnt . I sure hope they can put my picture back and fix my adress book at least.

Scam Messages
I get at least 3 scam messages every day. The say I won something, an account of mine will be cancelled or my my computer has several viruses. I need to contact them immediately. It would be nice to be able to report these to AOL and once verified by AOL do not allow them through the system at all. Some probably use different addresses but AOL should be able to quickly identify them all by the common message. It is time for the various email networks do something.

LIke the web brower aol email under compose and save, on AOL desk top gold have the signature portion automated. If user wants to use alternate email signature then they can go to the bottom right to switch.
AOL try not to wast user time in clicking each time for a signature- electronic gadgets should be able to save time not add inefficiencies

Error: 101 - ERR_CONNECTION_RESET
Now I keep getting this error when trying to access many web pages. I do not need to call support. It is at your end. Many people are experiencing this. I've cleared my browser and signed off and back on but still get it.
Please power cycle (reboot) your modem/router, by following these steps:
Switch off and unplug the power from your modem/router.
Leave both unplugged for 30 seconds.
Plug the power back into the modem/router and verify that you are again connected to the Internet.If you still encounter issues call us at 1-888-265-3733.

Need installer
Not sure how but my son lost AOL gold on his computer it's a blank white icon, we tried downloading online but it wants me to pay for another membership? Copied the installer from my laptop to a flash drive tried installing it tells us that both my screenname and his are not valid on the client or something along those lines. I pay for AOL every month, it's not due to be paid for a few days... How can I reinstall his aol gold so that he doesn't lose anything he saved on aol?

FIX THE BASICS AOL GOLD IS WORST PROGRAM I EVER USED. I BEEN USING COMPUTERS SINCE 1987.
1.) SAVE DRAFT SHOULD SAVE THE ORIGINAL DRAFT ONLY
"1 TIME" IT SAVES MULTIPLE COPIES.2) COPY, PASTE, CUT, UNDO, SPELL CHECK WORKS ONLY 50% OF TIME.
BROWESER EDIT WORKS 50% OF TIME
IT TAKES 4-10 CLICKS FOR EMAIL TO OPEN SOMETIMES IT FREEZES.DOESNT OPEN AT ALL, OR WILL NOT SEND.
THESE ARE BASIC EMAIL FEATURES WE USE EVERY DAY. ARE WE HAVING A LANGUAGE BARRIER HERE, YOU ARE FIXING THINGS NORMAL PEOPLE USE ONCE A MONTH!!!

have an educated and intelligent person, that DOES NOT speak "computerees" set up all help on your site. as it is it only creates more problems - than a Pregnant Nun may have... I am 68 years old, 2 undergrad degrees and decades of USING a computer..and can t acccomplish - changing AOL account password, pay my bill with AOL, etc etc. etc. after 1.5 hours I gave up. and I did us my Master AOL address. OH. and have person with English as 1st lang. set up all.

Is it really possible that you CANNOT WORK OFFLINE in Gold?
Is it really possible that Gold was released allowing that you MUST have an internet connection to view old Old/Sent/Draft e-mails that are supposedly "Saved On Your PC"?
Also, related, there was always the safety net before of being able to save the Organize Folder/Data (The entire PFC for each screen name). I am told by tech support this is not possible.

Issues with everything
There's a huge problem when you can't log on to AOL from your own desktop but you can with any of the other servers! There's loads of disgruntled people who hate Gold but guess what.. they're not listening!!!!!! I could go on forever! No blocking mail the easy way. No address book on the side. No way to access emails when offline! When trying to access AOL the screen just sits there blank! Settings are all messed up
My Avast abtivirus did an update last night, and now I'm having problems with AOL. It no longer has my user name and password saved, even though I've repeatedly told it to. My mail settings are screwed up, and when I try to get to them, all I'm getting is a black screen. What's happening, and how do I correct it? Has anyone else had this problem?

Err3 error.. what the heck is that about?
When trying to get a piece of email to go to my waiting to be sent folder I got that message. Why should there be any delay or error sending mail to my waiting to be sent folder? Why isn't it going through immediately? This doesn't happen all the time, but it shouldn't happen ever at all for any reason.

Mouse forward and backword buttons do not work like they did in other versions like 9.7. When will this be fixed? Mouse works fine everywhere except in the Gold Desktop. I have contacted Techs many times before and I am just told it will be reported but it still is not fixed and it has been almost a year now. It is not my computer at fault, it is AOL programming which causes this.

I won't call aol techs again. They told me aol is aware of the problem and is working on it.
II won't call aol techs again. They told me aol is aware of the problem and is working on it.. He reinstalled it twice and it still doesn;t work right. It drops off when I try to read the article and even when tryinig to read e-mail. It used to be good, but isn't worth the money now. I read your reviews and lots of others have the same problem.

In addition to agreeing with virtually all comments that I saw for improvement please see the following comments.
There are too many key strokes required on a number of items: 1. The old system allowed the e-mail list to open automatically on sigh on so no strokes were required. 2. The "folders" window opens automatically when the mail window is open. I do not want to see the folders window unless I activate it myself as I used to be able to do. 3. when saving an e-mail there are two boxes that must be closed upon completion. This is one keystroke too many. 4. The search box opens automatically when AOL opens. Please change this so I…

Unable to sign on to AOL!
For the first 5 or 6 tries I kept getting a white page with nonsense on it after entering my password and trying to sign on. Something new and bad is happening daily! No improvements that I can see which are listed on your Beta Fixes. Just more and more goes wrong with every passing day. This is way too stressful and to add insult to injury we are paying for all of this nonsense. We need to have the old AOL back!
