Why do I have to click on a headline 3-4 times before the headline opens up? I have a new and fast computer. This issue is 100% AOL. Are you updating your old and aged system?

I have no interest in you adding news to the search box. Please remove it. I was on the phone for an hour with 2 support techs who tried to remove this unwanted news. It is very uncalled for to try and make some one read **** they are not interested in

Verification Code
Account verification (for AOL Desktop Gold on my desktop computer) is flawed because number of digits texted to me were greater than number of digits accepted in box where I was meant to type in the verification.
First code was 6 digits. NG. Hit "resend". Second code was 5 digits. NG. Hit "resend". Third code was 4 digits. This one I was able to type in, and therefore access my AOL Desktop Gold.

March Update #4 -Version 11.0.1713 : Your "Hot New!" shortcuts do not work!
HOT New! - keyboard shortcuts to get focus in toolbar (ctrl L for URL, ctrl J for read mail icon).......................NONE OF THIS WORKS either for me or for my friend on her computer. I have cleared my browser. I have signed off and on twice. IT DOES NOT WORK!
Control J only highlights the mailbox. It does not open it.
Control L does nothing.Do you test before you put things out?
The CTRL+J key combination, will highlight the Read mail icon (not open it). Once the icon is highlighted you can use the left and right arrows on the keyboard to select the other icons in the toolbar and press ENTER to open any one of them. CTRL+L will move the focus to the address box, so after pressing this key combination you can start typing a URL, then press enter to open it.

Address book problems
I have spent the last hour on the phone with tech support trying to be able to edit and/or delete contacts in my address book. I have uninstalled the program and reinstalled it. Nothing the agent tried has worked and when I try to edit an address in the address book, no change is made. I also cannot delete any contacts.

Marking emails as unread does not always work
It rarely works on the first try, mark it as unread and expect it to stay in your new mail then when you want to have a double take you can't find it. Go to old and have to mark it as unread 2/3 more times before it's move back to the inbox. (side note, why isn't my screenname good enough to leave feedback? since I have to add the @aol.com to leave feedback am I going to have to do so to email other aol members as well?)
Try refreshing the mailbox. Click on the Mail option on the top of the desktop screen and select Refresh Mailbox from the drop-down menu.

Issues still present in aol desktop gold
There are still issues present in aol desktop gold.
1) Icons are missing from under safety all the way to help. This only affects computers that have an amd processor.
2) videos still play on auto on the welcome screen.
3) No manual update for check for updates.
4) The software causes my hard drive light to stay solid for a good 10 minutes before turning off.There may be other issues present still, but these come to mind.

AOL DataMask Screenshot Issue
AOL DataMask Screenshot Issue
When I use DataMask and try to make a screenshot on Dell’s website, it would not work. And, I did put an X in the appropriate screen block option and also selected Exit in the notification area. Furthermore, I can make a screenshot on any other website or document. I use Windows 10 and AOL Gold.
Below is one Dell’s website where I could not make a screenshot.

1/22/18Besides disabling DataMask, please also turn off the Screen Capture Protection from within AOL Desktop Gold. To do that, follow these steps:
1. Open AOL Desktop Gold and sign on.
2. Click on the Edit button on the top left corner.
3. Select General Settings from the drop-down menu.
4. Go to the Premium Security tab.
5. Uncheck “Enable Screen Capture Protection” (changes as saved automatically).

emails won't open but the ads sure do
HOW AMAZING THAT I CAN CLICK ON AN EMAIL AND THE CONTENTS DOESN'T SHOW BUT BY GOD THE ADS ARE RIGHT THERE, FLASHING AND TAKING UP ALL THE MEMORY ON MY COMPUTER. I CAN'T SEE WHAT I'M HERE TO SEE, BUT BY GOD I CAN SEE ADS THAT HAVE NO MEANING TO ME. AOL SUCKS THE BIGGEST ****** EVER. ALL THE JOY IS GONE FROM USING AOL, THIS IS NO LONGER FUN, ITS TEDIOUS AND IT ****** ME THE **** OFF.

AOL 800# Tech support is all foreign based so AOL Corporate officers can maximize their pay. AOL Tech Support usually creates more damage and make problems worse. AOL continues to utilize an idiotic, problematic browser arrangement that needs continuous reworking and updating. Their main default, workaround and fallback is to Reload the AOL Gold program via BOMGAR session, which most always causes loss of your AOL program-open settings and loss of all your personal TOOL-BAR settings and Icons which you have placed there, but, of course, always retrains the AOL commercial Icons, which actually can, and should be deleted. Tech help needs help!
I tried to install a paid version of Gold on a new hard drive. One tech called me and we installed a program to let her do the install. She couldn't and then told me it was due to over 1000 viruses on my computer. Another called me back and tried to get me to pay Microsoft $99 to repair my computer. I'm a tech myself. So I found a link and installed the Gold software myself. I've been with AOL since they were out on floppy for dial-up. Bad advice is not what your Tech people should…

When an AOL user calls for assistance, try your best to not just give up. Whats the point of a membership fee then?

AOL has gone to pot
I spend too much time waiting for something to happen. I click on a tab and wait. I try to scroll, and nothing happens. I get messages that AOL is not responding. It is extremely annoying. This used to be a good site, but I don't know if anyone gives a **** any more. Clean up your act.

AOL Tech Help
Due to the AOL Tech help.....I have NO welcome screen. It is blank when I sign on. In order for me to get welcome screen....I must sign off & on 6 or 7 times to get it. Also, I have to use the keyword hundreds of times to get the welcome screen. I have to do both of these things in order to get welcome screen. AOL tech help does not help at all.
