AOL Spam settings are absolutely garbage. I am getting SPAM sent to me by my own email address, explain this AOL? Your SPAM settings should allow users to manage email addresses as they see fit. What happened to we could easily identify official AOL mail by the colored ICON/ subject line? Now I get Spam from an official looking AOL email address along with my own email address and the Spam controls will not update any new addresses I try to block.

Yellow banner telling us to upgrade windows 7
We have a yellow banner saying "Microsoft has ended support for this version of Windows." extra extra extra.
I majored in computer networking so I know that this is just microsoft talking to us, but why do we have to be constantly reminded to upgrade windows 7.
I have no plans to move to either windows 8, windows 10 or windows 11. I don't like any of them. No offense to anyone that does.
Before we got a popup telling us the same thing, now it's a yellow banner.
There should be an option to not display this banner so…

AOL Desktop's Background picture flashing off and on
I reported this as a "bug" the other day but it's still happening so I figured I'd try this. Whenever I delete or move emails, my AOL downloaded home screen picture flashes black and then comes back on. It sometimes happens too when I use the browser and change sites I am looking at. It doesn't happen on other browsers on my laptop, just AOL Desktop Gold. Don't know if anyone else is experiencing this or not but it's been doing this for several days now.

All Mail is Spam
I have reported this as a bug and it has been tackled by "tech Support" ... no help ... ALL of my email is routed to SPAM ...the problem must be on the AOL Server because my alt email is unaffected and AOL.com is also affected,
ALSO When I open Settings - Mail I get the following inane message: "We see to be having some trouble sending this request. Please wait try again in 5 minutes. Code: Forbidden."
I have done everything "Tech Support" directed .. no help ...

AOL browser is DOG SLOW WITH EMAIL PHOTOS, PLEASE FIX THIS.
YOU NEED TO FIX THE BROWSER SO IT DOESN'T TAKE DAYS TO SEND PHOTOS WITHIN AN EMAIL. ALSO, YOU SHOULD HAVE MENTIONED OUT-FRONT THAT 25 MEG IS THE MAX, RATHER THEN AFTER THE FACT, AFTER YOU TAKE CUSTOMERS MONEY.
THIS IS ALL JUST VERY BASIC BROWSER STUFF AND THE PRIOR AOL 9.8 WAS CORRECT AND MUCH FASTER. nOW, SOMETIMES IT JUST SHUTS DOWN THE PROGRAM ALTOGETHER AND YOU MUST DO A CTL-ALT-DELETE OR REBOOT ENTIRELY AS IT LOCKS UP COMPUTER. it stated that sign on problems have all been resolved + forum comments are closed - took 6 attempts to sign in just now - enter pass word + nothing happens at all - happens on different computers + isp's - guess email was just another lip service , do nothing response from AOL GOLD - MSN , YAHOO , + all other sign ons are working properly !

photos
When will photos be fixed so they can be pasted in the body of email and not as attachments? It used to work fine with Win 7 but no longer in Win 10 despite making photos smaller or cropping. Having an editor in Gold is useless w/o being able to send a photo. Now one photo won't even send, takes forever and then getting error message to try later. I have reported this "bug" for over 6 months and it still doesn't work.
You can use drag and drop feature or right click and insert picture.

VERY IMPORTANT email photos disappearing when save into a "saved on aol" folder. Why does this happen?
I have had some extremely important photos sent to me via aol email and have tried to save them in a "saved on aol" folder, only to discover that they are no longer accessible when I try to retrieve them. A short note/description of what the picture may contain appears in writing but no picture/photo. I have lost some extremely important family pics because of this. I am truly frustrated with this and would like to know why it keeps happening. FIX IT....SERIOUSLY !

Upgrade for AOL
My AOL is finally fixed with the upgrade. Originally, they told me to go to keyword UPDATE, click on it and put a program on my computer. When I clicked on that program to load, it sent me an error message and wiped out my AOL Gold login icon. After many calls to tech support, we finally got the upgrade loaded. Here is what FINALLY WORKED: Go into SAFE MODE, I went into Google and typed the following: updates.dektop.aol.com/updates/gm/InstallAOLDesktop.exe After you do this it loads. Try refreshing the mailbox. Click on the Mail option on the top of the desktop screen and select Refresh Mailbox from the drop-down menu.So more steps to accomplish simple tasks. As a bonus "loading" forever.

Return the option to close the mail box, I want close the mail box for another screen names is out of hand to control JUNK MAIL, I try any thing and is like I getting more and more. I unsubscribe were I never subscribe, I block junk mail, and they find the way to send more, they just change the electronic address.
This is my 4th time that I'm asking help for this matter on feedback and also by phone with technical support

Trying to check if there is incoming new mail on other SNs is a royal ***. We have to sign out/sign back in under other SNs. On 9.8 checking mail on 5 SNs was a breeze: click on Switch SNs and it would show if you have mail to read AND THEN you could switch or cancel and stay on your usual…

AOL Starts From Scratch Each Day
Since AOL Gold installed an update on 12/15/20, AOL is so much harder to use. All the info I input in a day is gone after I turn off my computer at night. Why can’t we access old email on our PCs instead of having to log into AOL Gold?
I spent over two hours with your techs today trying to make sure that I could download my archived AOL emails to my PC. I have 20 years worth! Only after the full two hours did they finally admit that there was no way to download them on to your PC. You can only access them from inside the desktop software. AOL has effectively taken ******* of thousands of my emails. They’re doing this to everyone. In an age where we’re all the more concerned with our personal privacy, how can AOL justify this? You can now save a copy of your emails as a PDF or Text file on your computer, which can be accessed outside of the AOL Desktop Gold.
To do this, open an email from your mailbox, then click on File on the top left and select Save from the drop-down menu. You can type a name for the file in the “File Name” box, select the location where you want to save it, and finally click on Save in the bottom right.
Please note that you can save one email at a time.

NOTHING WORKS!
My default fonts don't hold; everything is SLOW; my mail "marked as unread" doesn't remain in new mail; links take forever to open and sometimes it takes two or three attempts. Nothing about GOLD is better than the old AOL and none of your suggested fixes work. And the techs don't have a clue and I am certainly not going to allow some stranger on the other side of the world have access to my computer. I've been a faithful AOL user since the '80's but I'm convinced AOL doesn't really care about customers. Look at all the complaints…

RETHINK "NEW" BROWSER FUNCTIONALITY/FEATURE RE. FALSE HISTORY
Desktop Gold Team responded to my issue: Browser/address bar down arrow shows "Search" of sites I NEVER/WOULD search. Told it's a 'new functionality' just released--recent history will show 'the top trending searches from AOL search'--how many searches to an Indiana Funeral Home could warrant it listed in 'top trending searches?' Said 'This is a common feature that all mainstream browsers do.' Really? Why doesn't Microsoft Edge or Google do that--not "mainstream." browsers'? This "feature" could result in someone becoming a suspect in a Crime Investigation or a child/wife/husband wrongly accused of (whatever) because AOL has a "new functionality" that shows…

Why does AOL Gold no longer tell us where a message has been saved?
DON'T simply say a message has been saved, tell us WHERE it was saved. Between AOL Gold's colossal stupidity or coyness about where a message got saved and Windows' "hovering" feature, I sometimes have to try half a dozen times to put a message where I can retrieve it. And THAT doesn't even BEGIN to address the clutter in my filing cabinet. This problem didn't occur with AOL 9.7, which I think was vastly superior to AOL Gold. Why are we paying for an inferior product full of ****** advertising and no-news "news?"
