Dump your version of personalized sounds and restore the Windows Media Player. There are many sites from which all kinds of sounds may be downloaded and played. You have disabled this feature and forced us to consider your selections.

This I don't want because I use separate account so when the spam gets too great on my retail account name I just don't use (or close that particular) that particular account. AOL Desktop Gold has a new way of spell checking your emails. This is done automatically, in real time, as you compose your messages. When the AOL Desktop Gold detects a spelling error, the word is highlighted by a red line under it. Unfortunately the background feature is not available at the moment in the new software, but we are making more features available with every update to the new AOL Desktop.

Rotten Drop Down list
Drop down feature is terrible!! I used to be able to see what pages I had been using during browsing and could return to one if I wanted. NO MORE!! When I try to return to the last page of browsing, it isn’t there. Instead, the name of a category, usually AOL search, is there. I want to find an article that I looked at during my browsing, but if I use the arrow to find the page, I am sent back to "AOL search". By the way, the comment section hangs up when I try to scroll down a couple of hours.In tn other words you can't really scroll past hour 2, takes too long. This is only software, why can't you fix this?

FIrst email doesnt show everything - then after refreshing email and trying to open, AOL crashes - i think Verizon is trying to get rid of AOL

Why does Gold freeze completely when I use SpellCheck on an email?
I have to CTLALTDLT or turn off my computer very time Spellcheck does this.Please send us a crash report in order for our engineers to look into the issue you are experiencing with the software closing unexpectedly. To do that, please follow these steps:
1. Open AOL Desktop Gold.
2. Click on Help on the top right, and select Report a Bug from the drop-down menu.

Improvements needed for Desktop Gold !!
There are real problems with Desktop Gold – it should not have been released before they were fixed. Where is "Manage Favorites"? Can Favorites be stored on my PC?
Some Favorites folders are missing on *****. How to recover? Unable to manage preferences on Desktop 9.8
Security/Privacy Issue – If I log off with an e-mail and one or more web pages open, they are still visible if I do not exit Desktop Gold. If another user then logs on, they remain visible, so that the other user can read my e-mail and see the web pages I was on.

Too many email problems and they are horrible problems
What is going on?? Now I search for mail from a specific person and mixed in with the results are unrelated emails from other people! Also, at times when I delete certain mails they come back.
I can not "Select all" to detete mail in the trash.... and I can't even delete a mail in there while it i open which means I have to read a mail, then close it, then delete it. Try doing this daily with a large amount of mail! I caan't believe how bad things are here in every area.

Thank's for taking those annoying ads of the write page but please bring back 9.8 so I can pick the sounds I want for my AOL greetings etc.
Combine the best of both 9.8 and Gold and stop trying to make changes we don't want. I DO PAY for my AOL every month and will not continue to if you keep *****with it.
The custom greeting sounds are now available with the latest update for the AOL Desktop Gold. To customize your greeting sounds, follow these steps:
1. Open the AOL Desktop Gold and sign on.
2. Click on the ‘Edit’ menu on the top left.
3. Select ‘General Settings’ from the drop-down menu.
4. Go to the ‘Personalization’ category on the left.
5. Select the ‘Sounds’ tab.
As an alternative you can go to the Keyword(CTRL+K): sounds.To choose the sound categories, click on the ‘Options’ button, and after selecting your preferred greetings click on ‘Apply’. You can also preview the sounds before and after applying them, by clicking on the Play button next to the sound name.
